Cut

Cut describes how well a diamond's facets interact with light. It influences brightness, fire, and sparkle more than any other factor.

Color

For white diamonds, color grades measure how colorless the stone is. On common grading scales, D is colorless and later letters show more warmth.

Clarity

Clarity describes small internal characteristics (inclusions) and surface marks (blemishes). Many are only visible under magnification.

Carat

Carat is a measure of weight, not size. Two diamonds with the same carat weight can look different in size depending on shape and cut proportions.

Balancing the 4Cs

No single grade tells the whole story. Look at the diamond as a whole, ideally with images or video, alongside its grading report.
